LilyPond is a free, open-source music notation application that runs on Windows, Mac OS, and Linux, and is “devoted to producing the highest-quality sheet music possible.” It is also highly customizable, allowing users to re-assign notes/pitches to different positions on the staff, modify note head shapes, and change the line pattern of staves, among other things. This makes it possible to use LilyPond to create sheet music in TwinNote, and to translate existing music from traditional notation into TwinNote. LilyPond has a text-based interface rather than a graphical user interface (but see Shikkers List ).
Here is a screen-capture of some music typset in TwinNote using LilyPond:

Here is a demo, a LilyPond file customized to generate sheet music in TwinNote, and the PDF file that LilyPond generates from it:

This demo file works with LilyPond version 2.15.36 or higher (the release candidate for the next stable version 2.16).
See Sheet Music for more examples of music typeset in TwinNote using LilyPond.
Further documentation on using LilyPond with TwinNote and other alternative notation systems is available on the LilyPond page of the Music Notation Project Wiki.
